I have strong believe that SIS should allowed the
student to use the phone during school.Theirs al ot of reason that why school should
allowed student to use the phone during the school hour. Our life is a full of
unplanned happen and full of dangerous thing. Cell
phones are great devices if they aren't abused. Most smartphones these days
allow people to access the internet. They are also great calculators, recording
devices and a means of communication. As many have said on the right hand
argument, they can be a distraction. If they are silenced, then they are not.
Students should be allowed to make the decision if whether or not they want
to learn and take advantage of the opportunity presented to them. In terms
of cheating, students should be held to an academic honor code, one where the
teacher actually trusts the student.
As a policy at saipan international school, students are to keep their phones locked in their lockers from the first bell to the last bell, but honestly, if the students have a free period or they are at lunch, they should be allowed to use their phone. I don't see why not. Truthfully, teachers say they only want what's in the best interest for the student, but if they don't want to learn, then they don't want to learn. If teachers view it as a sign of disrespect, address the problem instead of making students less willing to respect you and your policies. Cell phone usage is important and yes, it can be a distraction but ultimately that's up to the individual and it shouldn't be something that requires "rules" on how and when to use it. It is not your property, it is the students and I view it as a breech to a student's privacy. And also If students were allowed to use cell phones in between classes and at lunch they would be less likely to use their cell phones during class.
Also, it really is not hurting anything if students are using their cell phones outside of class. Students need to use their phones to keep in touch with their parents and or friends for important reasons. So cell phones should be allowed to be used in between classes and during lunch. And also students would listen to music or something to keep them calm. Music is probably the best solution to get out the real world and its obstacles because the other alternative is drugs, so be grateful the student turns to music. Resulting to these methods listed above; there may be financial problems from his/her parents, bad marks in school, getting bullied and many others. In addition, there are other reasons why pupils listen to music non-stop. Maybe it is because they have nothing else to do and it became a habit for them. Self-Controlling could be it, as many novice can’t control themselves from listening to music, texting, or playing games on their devices. In fact, popularity has to be the last great reason listening to music without an end. A learner wants to go with the flow as they see other mischievous pupils eavesdropping to their music. So it’s mainstream that keeps all the kids listening to music .
